Couples Therapy for Partners Who Keep Having the Same Fight

From the outside, you're a strong couple. You run a household, maybe careers, maybe a family. You're good at a lot of things together.

But at home, the same argument keeps coming back. Or things have gone quiet, and the quiet feels worse.

You don't need a referee. You need a way back to each other that holds up under stress.

In person in Tampa and virtual throughout Florida.

Hands With Rings

Does this sound familiar?

You handle conflict well at work. At home, the same fight loops.

One of you pushes to talk and the other shuts down, and you both know the pattern by heart.

You feel more like business partners or co-parents than a couple.

Pressure from work, family, or money keeps landing on your relationship.

You love each other, and you're tired.

Your patterns started long before you met

Most fights aren't about the dishes. They're about old strategies each of you learned early to stay safe, be heard, or keep the peace. Under stress, those strategies take over. Your nervous systems start reacting to each other instead of to the moment, and the conversation you meant to have never happens. My couples work is informed by Relational Life Therapy (RLT), with a nervous system and trauma lens.

How I work with couples

Direct and Practical

I'll tell you both what I see, kindly and plainly. You'll leave with specific things to try, not only insight.

Honest about what I see.

Sometimes that means taking a side in the moment. If one of you is stuck in a pattern that's hurting the relationship, I'll say so, kindly and directly.

Nervous system aware.

When a conversation escalates, we slow it down and notice what's happening in your bodies, so you can stay connected when it counts.

Room for your history.

If old hurts are driving the pattern, we name them. We can also talk about whether individual support alongside couples sessions would help.

What to expect

01

A free 15-minute consult.

One or both of you can call. We'll talk about what's going on and whether I'm the right fit.

02

Understanding the pattern.

Early sessions map how your conflict works: what sets it off, what each of you does next, and what you both want underneath it.

03

Changing it in real time.

We practice new ways of responding in session, with practical tools to use at home.

Sessions are available at my office on N. Dale Mabry Highway in Tampa or by secure video anywhere in Florida.

About Alina

Since 2013, I've helped people understand how stress and trauma live in the body. In couples work, that shows up in the moments you react to each other faster than you can think.

Many of the couples I see are capable, high-achieving people who are used to solving problems. Their relationship is the one problem that effort alone hasn't fixed. I help them slow those moments down and choose something different.

Common questions about couples therapy

What if my partner isn't sure about therapy?

That's common. The free consult is a low-pressure way to see if it feels right. Partners who hesitate often find a direct, practical approach a relief.

Do you offer couples therapy online?

Yes. I see couples in person in Tampa and virtually throughout Florida. Both partners need to be in Florida during sessions.

Do we have to be in crisis to start?

No! Many couples come in because a pattern is wearing them down, not because the relationship is ending. Starting earlier usually makes the work easier.

Do you take insurance?

I'm a private-pay practice. You'll find my rates on the FAQs & Fees page.

You don't have to wait for things to get worse.

Schedule a free 15-minute consult. We'll talk about what's happening between you and whether I'm the right fit.
