ALINA KLEIN THERAPY
Family Therapy for Adult Families in Tampa
Your family has built a lot together. A history, maybe a business, maybe a legacy you all feel responsible for.
Somewhere along the way, old roles and old hurts started running the room. Everyone's an adult now, but a family dinner can still pull you right back into who you were at twelve.
It doesn't have to stay that way.
In person in Tampa and virtual throughout Florida.

Does this sound familiar?
Family gatherings feel tense, even when nothing is said.
Old roles stick: the responsible one, the peacekeeper, the one who's always "the problem."
Conversations about money, caregiving, or the family business turn into old fights.
A parent and an adult child want to be closer, and neither knows how to start.
A big transition is coming: an aging parent, a business changing hands, a loss, a marriage.

Families develop patterns for a reason
Every family builds unspoken rules about who handles what, what can be said, and what stays quiet. Those rules usually made sense once. As everyone grows up, they can start to cost more than they protect. Family therapy gives you a place to notice the rules and decide, together, which ones to keep. My family work is informed by Relational Life Therapy (RLT) and grounded in how stress and trauma shape the way people react to each other.
How I work with families
Everyone gets heard.
Sessions are structured so the loudest voice doesn't set the agenda.
Patterns, not blame.
We look at how your family works as a whole, instead of naming one person as the problem.
Direct and practical.
You'll get specific ways to talk about hard topics like money, caregiving, and roles.
A flexible format
We may meet with the whole family, a few members, or a mix, depending on what the work needs.
What to expect

01
A free 15-minute consult.
Usually with the person reaching out. We'll talk about your family, your goals, and whether I'm the right fit.
02
Getting oriented
Early sessions clarify who's involved, what's working, and what each person hopes will change.
03
Working sessions.
We take on the conversations your family has been avoiding, one at a time, with support in the room.
Sessions are available at my office on N. Dale Mabry Highway in Tampa or by secure video anywhere in Florida.
About Alina
Most of my career has focused on trauma and the nervous system. Families are where those patterns start, and often where they're hardest to change. I help each person understand why they react the way they do, so the family can stop having the same conversation.
I also hold an MBA, so I'm comfortable in the room when the hard topics are a family business, money, or succession. I don't give financial advice. I help your family talk about it.

Common questions about family therapy
Does everyone in the family have to come?
No. We can start with whoever is willing. Change in one part of a family often opens the door for others.
Can family members join virtually?
Yes. I see families in person in Tampa and virtually throughout Florida. Each person needs to be in Florida during sessions.
Do you work with young children?
My family work focuses on adult families: parents and grown children, siblings, and extended family.
Do you take insurance?
I'm a private-pay practice. You'll find my rates on the FAQs & Fees page.
